Betty's here with me now. I just dragged this box up to my room. It scared my mom when she saw it on the front porch, lol. That was a fun thing to explain to her that I got a box of stuff that I don't fully know th econtents of.
I will be opening the box shortly. Trust me, there will be pics. I'll probably be posting pictures as I take them. Expect the first ones before the morrow!

Hey guys! Betty got here around 12:30, safe and sound! I think I'm going to take her for a pedicure tonight, and maybe then we'll traipse around the university and take some pictures!
And Katt, The mileage between Ali in KY and me in OH is approximately 439.7 miles. The journal is in tip top shape, I was thinking about trying to make a journal holder with the leather square that Ali made... Is that cool with you, Ali? I won't do it until you give me the ok.

rejoice everyone! you may now begin caring and inquiring about Betty's whereabouts and what all she's been up to again. i've sent her off to TheGirlWithTheDreads.
all i kept out of the box was the gift from callmesabrina and some of the Bleach stickers/squad 10 badge. and unintentionally, an empty Hello Kitty baggy that i realized wasn't in the box after i had already packaged it all up...
i put a couple of DBZ dvds in the box. along with this which i made myself. the design is pretty plain, i didn't have all the tools i needed at home to make it fancier or to turn into something other than just a piece of leather. i'd like for it to stay with Betty in her travels. if anyone has ideas about what could be done with it i'm open to suggestions. maybe someone else down the line will have the stuff to make it into something besides a square with her name on it

hello folks. this afternoon i took Betty on a tour of my area. we don't have much here but there are some interesting things to be found if you know where to look. sadly some of those things we couldn't get to because of flood waters and evacuation orders. we made the best of it though . for those that wanna look at them, i've uploaded all the pics to Betty's album.
not too far from where i leave there's an awesome place. i use to hike there quite a bit. there are some magnificent sights to see. unfortunately i couldn't make it back to the 40ft sandstone arch mentioned on the sign. people really need to keep up the maintenance on things like this

so, in the area behind my old high school there is what used to be a Civil War Fort. we started an archeology class just for the purpose of digging there, and that's one of my favorite things i've ever done. like ever. needless to say what i saw there today greatly disappointed me
. it's grown up so bad that it's hard to tell what's what. you can barely tell where we dug . if i didn't find the bricks from the fireplace i would have been walkin in circles for a while. anyway, if you don't know what you're looking at it'll just look like Betty in the woods lol, but oh well, she actually visited the site of a fort that General Ulysses S. Grant occupied in 1861.
know the movie How The West Was Won? some scenes in that movie were shot here. in the movie they were "in" Albany, NY but they really were in KY
. we have a family friend that was about 10 at the time and never shuts up about being there when they were filming lol. it's difficult to see the resemblance of the town these days though, not all of the buildings that were standing back then are still around.
The Gower House. this sign is pretty self explanatory lol.
it's rumored to have also been part of the underground railroad. the house that use to sit down the road from it WAS part of that. some asshat saw fit to burn it down though

on a semi-related note, i took her down to the mall tonight, but since it's dark out the pictures didn't turn up well (still gonna put some in the album, so check it out) so i'll have to go down sometime again during the day.
which stinks cause it's totally cooler at night, and there's no tourists (grr! touristas!), and it's way less crowded and easier to get around (especially if i park down there). oh well, everything comes at a price i guess.
